JAKARTA - CEO of PSIS Semarang AS Sukawijaya suffered a head injury suspected of being hit by a stone during a riot between spectators in the Liga 1 match between PSIS Semarang hosts against PSS Sleman at Jatidiri Stadium Semarang, Sunday, December 3.
"On a stone throw, he was taken to the hospital, but his condition is now good," said the Chairperson of the PSIS Semarang Match Implementing Committee Agung Buwono as quoted by Antara.
The man who is familiarly called Yoyok Sukawi was hit by a stone just after the chaos between supporters of the two teams broke out
Agung explained that the riots began when they mocked each other between PSIS Semarang supporters, Snex, who were in the north tribune with PSS Sleman supporters who were in the west tribune.
Agung and Yoyok Sukawi had visited the Snex stands to stop their actions, but they were ignored until a riot occurred.
Agung said there were around 1,600 supporters of PSS Sleman who came to the Jatidiri Stadium in Semarang, although there was actually a ban to come.
"Without attributes. Because the number is large, in terms of security it is placed in the west tribune," he said.
Even so, the chaos between PSIS supporters and PSS did not continue outside the stadium. Security officers from the committee and the police have tried to make the situation conducive again.
Meanwhile, PSS Sleman supporters who used motorbikes and buses were escorted by police to return to their area of origin. In that match, the host PSIS Semarang won 1-0 over PSS Sleman.
