Fakhri Husaini Appreciates Indonesia's U-17 Performance At The 2023 U-17 World Cup

Fakhri Husaini appreciated Indonesia's U-17 appearance in the two 2023 U-17 World Cup matches (doc. LOC WCU 17).

JAKARTA Indonesia U-17 successfully collected two points from the two matches of Group A of the 2023 U-17 Duna Cup. The acquisition came after playing series 1-1 against Panama and Ecuador.

These results actually made the Indonesian football public less satisfied, especially since Indonesia acted as the host.

Not a few criticisms were received by the Bima Sakti Tukiman troops. However, there are also those who actually appreciate the appearance of Arkhan Kaka et al.

One of them came from the former Indonesian U-16 coach, Fakhri Husaini. He assessed that Indonesia U-17 had performed quite well at the 2023 U-17 World Cup.

"This is an appearance that we should appreciate when there are many criticisms. Coach Bima has given his best so far. Indonesia's U-17 appearance, especially defense, has so far been quite good," said Fakhri Husaini in a press release.

Fakhri certainly has a basis for his appreciation and motivation. The former Indonesian national team player saw positive developments from one match to another.

The performance against Panama U-17 was much more impressive than the first match against Ecuador U-17. Against Ecuador U-17, we lost far. However, against Panama U-17, I saw Bima giving directions to get out to attack, "said Fakhri.

When left behind, the only way out is to attack. Until finally a header goal was born from Arkhan Kaka. Of course, coach Bima and team coach will conduct an evaluation," said Fakhri again.

Now, Garuda Muda is struggling to get the perfect points to get a ticket to qualify for the round of 16. They had to go all out in the last match against Morocco U-17 on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.

Fakhri sees that there is still a very open opportunity to win the match against Morocco U-17. He put high optimism on Garuda Muda.

I don't want to be too deep in discussing tactics. However, what is clear is that if we just survive, we will find it difficult to win. Only by attacking will we score goals. The most realistic thing is, if you want to qualify, you have to win in the match against Morocco," said Fakhri.

Fakhri Husaini really understands the national team of the age group. He was noted to have brought brilliant achievements with Indonesia U-16 when he won the 2018 AFF U-16 Cup in Sidoarjo.
