Duta Poco-Poco Indonesia Sukses Hibur Warga Amerika Serikat Dan Indonesia Di Washington DC

The Indonesian Cultural Creative Sports Federation (FOKBI) together with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, held the successful "Poco-Poco Indonesia Goes To Washington DC, USA" event.

JAKARTA - In the context of the Remarkable Indonesia Festival at the Pennsylvania Ave, 6th St - 7th St, Washington DC, United States on November 4, 2023, the Indonesian Cultural Creative Sports Federation (FOKBI) together with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, held the successful "Poco-Poco Indonesia Goes To Washington DC, USA" event.

This event featured the ambassadors who were winners of the Poco-Poco Indonesia Goes To USA competition, which was held on November 21, 2023 at Sasana Langgeng Budaya TMII, Jakarta. The Poco-Poco Gymnastics Team assisted by the Medan City Dispora and Viola Nailal Shafitri from Muara Enim, South Sumatra, represented Indonesia majestically at an event in Washington DC.

In his appearance on the streets of Pennsylvania Avenue, right in front of Capitol Hills, the Indonesian Poco-Poco ambassadors managed to entertain the citizens of the United States and Indonesia with an energetic and cheerful movement.

Sapta Nirwandar, Chairman of the FOKBI DPP, stated that the purpose of this event was to introduce Indonesian cultural wealth internationally, provide an unforgettable experience for the winner of the Poco-Poco competition, as well as expand Poco-Poco's existence in the international community, especially in Washington.

"We are trying to bring Poco-Poco to appear in front of the Washington public to provide valuable experiences for the winners of the Poco-Poco competition from Indonesia and to showcase Indonesia's cultural wealth in the international world," said Sapta Nirwandar in a written statement received by VOI Monday, November 6 in Jakarta.

The Poco-Poco dance is famous for its simple but passionate movements, appropriate for many ages. Angeline Suryanti, Chair of the event committee, stressed that the excitement shown in this dance movement was able to bring happiness in everyday life, especially when people in Washington DC and the rest of the world watched people dance with passion and smiles on their faces.

Not only as a competition, the winners of the Poco-Poco competition also had a golden opportunity to appear in the Poco-Poco Flash Mob at the "Remarkable Indonesia" event. This cannot be separated from the extraordinary support from Tiket.com and Bank BRI who also ensured the success of the event.

FOKBI and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy also thanked all parties who have participated in supporting the success of "Poco Indonesia Goes To Washington DC, USA." This event is not only a forum for Poco-Poco ambassadors, but also as a cultural window for Indonesia that is wide open in the eyes of the world.
