JAKARTA - Chairman of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Future Host Commission Kristin Kloster Aasen acknowledged that the presentation of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) as a candidate to host the 2032 Olympics was very convincing because it received strong support from all stakeholders.

On Wednesday, February 3, KOI presented the feasibility of Jakarta as a candidate to host the 2032 Olympics to the IOC Future Host Commission.

In a virtual meeting with the IOC Future Host Commission, KOI Chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari explained that Jakarta deserves to host the Olympics because it has a supporting area around it which has proven to be an important part of the success of the 2018 Asian Games and Asian Para Games.

“Indonesia 2032 will be a catalyst for all generations, from Indonesia, Asia, and the world, where we can show how a city like Jakarta can rise again by utilizing technology.

"Also a sustainable effort, and considering the next generation through the actions we are taking today," Oktohari said regarding his presentation to the IOC, in a press release published by Antara, Friday.

To the IOC, the man who is familiarly called Okto also offered three main pillars, namely environment, heritage and technology as the focus of the implementation plan.

KOI promises that the 2032 Olympics in Indonesia will become a zero emission event because it will take advantage of technological advances, such as the use of electric vehicles for the transportation system, both public and private in Jakarta. It is believed to be a legacy from the 2032 Olympics.
