JAKARTA - Naturalized player Ilija Spasojevic admitted that he had been teased by a team from abroad when the Indonesian League 1 competition was vacuumed before deciding to extend his contract with Bali United for the next three seasons.

"Indeed, the current situation is difficult because of the pandemic and many Indonesian players have chosen careers abroad. They already miss football. I also really miss football and many foreign teams offer my services. It's just that I prefer to stay with Bali United. Spaso did not mention which team wanted him, but the former Persib Bandung player loved Bali United too much with everything in it so that the offer from an outside club did not shake his heart to remain in the uniform of Serdadu Tridatu.

"Bali United is more than a football team. I already think Bali United is like a family. For that I feel I still need to fight with my family at Bali United," he said.

Joining the Tridatu Serdadu squad for the 2018 season, Spasojevic is considered a quality striker. He succeeded in bringing Bali United to win the Indonesian League 1 season 2019.

He also has the ambition to extend the championship record. During his professional football career, Spaso has collected seven titles and has the ambition to make it 10 with Bali United.

"Even though I've managed to collect seven titles throughout my career, I still have a dream. My dream before hanging up my boots, I want to get 10 titles. I think with Bali United I can win at least the remaining three titles," hoped Spasojevic.

Bali United plans to hold training next week, but before that all players will first undergo a swab test to make sure no one has contracted COVID-19.
