Arteta Glad To See Arsenal Win Over Crystal Palace Despite 10 Players In The Second Round

JAKARTA Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is happy that his team can maintain their advantage over Crystal Palace despite playing with 10 players.

The Gunners managed to bring home three points despite playing with ten players since the 67th minute at Palace headquarters at Selhurst Park Stadium, Tuesday, August 22, 2023 in the morning WIB.

Takehiro Tomiyasu received a second yellow card so that Arteta's team limped. However, they were able to maintain the single goal advantage scored by Martin Odegaard from the spot.

"I'm very happy [we] were able to win. Always happy to win, but happier with the way we played with 10 players," Arteta said.

Arteta said the rest of maintaining a one-goal advantage against Palace indicated progress in his squad. Especially in the previous match against Nottingham Forest, they conceded in the final minute.

"Players really do their job. They didn't concede. We also had some good moments when we changed the momentum of the game. So I'm very happy," he said.

"I believe with our determination to win this, we see how they urge us. Seeing them pressure us, they are extraordinary in terms of changing the dynamics of the game."

Arsenal currently fills third place in the standings with a collection of six points from two matches. The same number of points is owned by Manchester City and Brighton who occupy the top two places.

The following week, Meriam London will play a match at home. They will have a visitors team Fulham on Saturday, August 26.
