JAKARTA Sad news has come from the world of racing. Asia Road Race Championship (ARRC) racer Haruki Noguchi passed away. The Japanese racer died on Wednesday, August 16 at 17.40 WITA yesterday. He died after an accident at the Mandalika Circuit last weekend.

"It is with deep sadness that we convey the sad news of Haruki Noguchi's death after three days of intensive treatment at the NTB General Hospital," wrote an official statement from the Asian FIM uploaded on Instagram.

Noguchi was involved in an accident after colliding with Zaqhwan Zaidi. As a result, he fell and then his head was run over by another motorbike.

This accident occurred when Noguchi was in the race 2 of the Asia Superbike (ASB) 1000 class. This incident made this race canceled.

"Despite the best efforts of medical staff, Haruki died from the injuries he suffered on August 16, 2023 at 17.40 local time," the statement continued.

Haruki Noguchi is a talented Japanese racer. He is the closest competitor to Markus Reiterberger, a German racer, who leads the ASB 1000 class standings.
