Football Supporter Sanctions Enter The Field, PSS Receives Heavy Punishment

PSS Sleman must accept the sanctions of football supporters. The PSS Disciplinary Commission (Komdis) gave the punishment because of the actions of supporters who took to the field after the match between PSS and Persija at Maguwoharjo Stadium on Friday (4/8).

The supporter from the team nicknamed Super Elja is considered to have violated the PSSI Disciplinary Code in 2023. The chronology of PSS Sleman's supporters' action entered the field after the final whistle of the match sounded. In the match of BRI Liga 1 2023/2024 PSS lost to Persija with a score of 1-3.

PSS Sleman was determined to take a rib action to push to the field to vent his disappointment because his team lost. As a result of the chaos that occurred in the match, PSS Sleman had to be sanctioned by the PSSI Komdis.

PSS Sleman uploaded a statement regarding the sanctions from Komdis PSSI Sleman, through his official Instagram account @pssleman. PSS Sleman revealed that there were three points of sanctions in the PSSI Komdis letter.

The following are the sanctions for football supporters entering the field received by PSS Sleman:

The first sanction that was given to PSS Sleman after their fans entered the field was the closure of part of the stadium. PSS Sleman had to close part of the stadium (all south tribune) in two matches while competing as host.

The sanction was issued and applies to the closest match to be played by PSS Sleman as the host. This sanction refers to Article 70 Paragraph 1, Paragraph 4, and Attachment 1 No 5 PSSI Disciplinary Code in 2023. As a result, the sanction was carried out during the PSS Sleman home match against Bhayangkara Indonesia Precision FC and Persebaya Surabaya.

The second sanction imposed on PSS Sleman was a fine of Rp. 25 million. PSS Sleman must bear the obligation to pay a fine of Rp. 25 million as a punishment for the actions of supporters who took to the field violating the PSSI Disciplinary Code.

In the grand match Indonesia vs Argentina which was held last June, PSSI also rolled out the threat of sanctions individually for supporters who entered the field. It was stated that spectators who infiltrated the field at the end of the match would be subject to a blacklist sentence and were prohibited from watching the match of the red and white team.

The provisions regarding the sanctions were conveyed by Erick Thohir Ketum PSSI during a press conference related to PT Garuda Sepak Bola Indonesia which was held last Friday (23/6). Erick Thohir stated that PSSI must give strict punishment to supporters who go to the field.

"We haven't announced it yet because we haven't had the Exco meeting. Surely we have a ban on not being allowed to watch national team matches, we will blacklist it," said Erick Thohir.

When asked about the decision to impose blacklist supporters' sanctions, Erick Thohir said that the policy was part of the rules and regulations that had to be improved. Erick Thohir hopes that the sentence will also be applied in the League 1 competition.

"I hope so (in the league). Spectators who cause trouble, let alone beatings, which makes some supporters unable to go home safely, there should be punishment," said Erick Thohir.
