JAKARTA - UEFA banned Manchester City from appearing in European competitions for two seasons for violating Financial Fair Play. Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu is grateful for the suspension which led to the anger of coach Pep Guardiola.

In a press conference following Manchester City's 2-0 win over West Ham, Guardiola was asked about the Barcelona president's attitude towards City's troubles. Pep said, other clubs in Europe also have the potential to receive punishment like them.

"I will say to the Barcelona president, give us an appeal," said Guardiola when asked about it.

"We believe that we are right and we will appeal. Don't talk too loud, Barcelona, ​​don't talk too loud.

"Because everyone is involved sometimes in situations like this. But we will appeal and hopefully we can play again in the Champions League against Barcelona."

Most of the questions at Guardiola's press conference were about the UEFA ban, but the coach doesn't want to keep talking about it.

"It's a sensitive matter to talk about legal action because I don't know, I'm not a lawyer," he said. "All we can do is win the game."

Manchester City will face Real Madrid in the first leg of the last 16 on 27 February. City are said to be appearing desperately following the punishment they received.
