JAKARTA - The Formula 1 race for the 2023 season will continue at the Hungaroring Circuit, Budapest, this weekend. Ferrari will not repeat the same mistakes in this race.

In the previous race at the Silverstone Circuit in England, Ferrari failed to record a positive result because it was too play safe. Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur emphasized that this would not happen again.

He admitted that the Jingkark Horse Team did not take the risk of completing the race at the British GP F1.

The two riders, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, had quite a solid appearance when the two started the race from P4 and P5. But in the end, both drivers had to settle for finishing the race in ninth and 10th.

Vasseur feels there are doubts from the team regarding the tire life which is an area they have pushed to improve after a spate of struggles at the start of the season against their main rivals.

"Starting from P4 and P5, we felt after the qualification at the time, we were able to do a much better job than this. We couldn't be happy to finish in P9 and P10, but now we have to look more, learn from last weekend," Vasseur said, quoted from the official Formula 1 website via Antara, Tuesday, July 18.

He continued not wanting to put too much pressure and wanted to focus on improving their performance in order to get a lot of points at the Hungarian GP.

"But right now, we have to think about what we can manage and to be honest I think we can push for more," Vasseur said.

Vasseur hopes that the circuit layout will be more in line with the characteristics of the SF-23 Ferrari race car. He also emphasized the need to be in the best performance in all areas.

"The arrangements we will do, our preparation at the weekend, it all depends on Friday, that's key. Maybe more or less, because in Budapest it will be very difficult for drivers to overtake so (the right arrangement) will be very crucial (made a team)," the Frenchman said.

Meanwhile, Ferrari ranks fourth in the constructors' standings behind Aston Martin, Mercedes, and Red Bull, while Sainz and Leclerc are fifth and seventh in the drivers' standings.
