Confirm Class Difference, Everton Beat Sheffield Wednesday And Strolled Into FA Cup Fifth Round

JAKARTA - Everton streaked smoothly past the second-tier team Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup fourth round match with a 3-0 victory at Goodison Park Stadium, Liverpool, England, Sunday local time (Monday WIB).

Having received threats from Adam Reach's speculative shot early in the match, Everton were finally able to open the scoring in the 29th minute when Andre Gomes' cross was completed perfectly by Dominic Calvert-Lewin in front of goal.

Everton continued to try to emphasize the class difference between the two teams, but were only able to double their lead in the 59th minute with Richarlison's header following James Rodriguez's cross.

Two minutes later, Richarlison almost scored his second again from Rodriguez's cross, but this time his shot was tipped over by goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith for a corner.

The result was converted by Everton into their third goal, when Yerry Mina threw a sharp gore from Rodriguez's ball into the top left corner of the net.

Wednesday tried to retaliate in the 72nd minute but Josh Windass's long-range shot was secured by goalkeeper Robin Olsen and two minutes later Windass's next chance was still unable to get past Everton's defense.

The 3-0 score lasted until dispersal and Carlo Ancelotti's team stepped into the fifth round, according to the official FA Cup page records quoted by Antara.

Everton will be waiting for the winner of another fourth round match between the second caste team Wycombe Wanderers against Tottenham Hotspur which took place on Monday local time (Tuesday WIB).
