JAKARTA - British heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury has moved into the ring in the middle of this year rather than waiting until December.
The owner of the WBC heavyweight title expressed his desire to fight between July and August 2023 through social media. He asked his promoter Frank Warren to immediately realize his desire.
"Go back to the gym today and this is my challenge: I challenge Frank Warren for me to fight northwest England in the near future. July, August. Whenever you are ready, Frank, I will be ready," Fury wrote on Instagram Story reported by Boxing Scene.
Fury has yet to enter the ring again after he defeated Derek Chisora through TKO in the tenth round in December last year.
After that victory, Fury was in discussions against Ukrainian boxers and the owners of WBO, WBA, IBF, IBO Oleksandr Usyk for the unification of all heavyweight division titles.
However, their duel was later canceled because there was no meeting point regarding the contract. However, there are still plans for them to meet at the end of the year in the Middle East.
The fight, if realized, is likely to present a'super' card between Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua.
Fury wants his fight to be held in the near future at the football stadium. He urged Frank to immediately fulfill his wishes rather than have to wait until December against Usyk who is still uncertain.
"Let's do it at the football stadium. It's not a problem. Give me an opponent and I will kill you, Frank. Realize it, Frank. I'm ready to fight right now. Come on!" he said.
So far Fury has had a total of 34 professional fights without losing. From that total he hit the opponent KO 24 times, won 9 times through a decision, and drew once.
