World Beach Game 2023 Also Rejected Because There Is Israel, Menpora Will Try To Meet Bali Governor I Wayan Koster This Week

JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo spoke about the refusal of the Governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster for the 2023 World Bech Game.

Responding to this situation, the Minister of Youth and Sports will seek to establish intensive communication and coordination with stakeholders.

"Yes, I have just seen it in the media, for the World Beach Games we will communicate it more intensely and further," said Dito Ariotedjo, quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Thursday, April 6.

"Surely I will officially talk to the Foreign Minister to address this," he continued.

Previously, it was known that I Wayan Koster's rejection of the World Beach Game 2023 was related to Israel's participation as a participant. Security concerns are thought to be a triggering factor for Koster to state his rejection.

To overcome this problem, the Minister of Youth and Sports will coordinate according to existing regulations. He will also meet I Wayan Koster in person as soon as possible.

"What is the agreement and existing regulations that have been agreed upon, we must respond with the existing regulations. So, for the current solution, namely, more intensive communication, we are scheduled to meet with the Governor of Bali this week," he explained.

With the efforts that will be undertaken, the Minister of Youth and Sports hopes that this prestigious agenda can continue to run smoothly in Indonesia.

"Let's just pray that this big event can continue. So we're still trying to do what has become a commitment from the start and we're just based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," he concluded.

World Beach Game 2023 is planned to be held in Bali on 5-15 August 2023. This event will be the first time for Indonesia to be participated in by 1,554 athletes.

More than 100 participating countries will head to the Island of the Gods to compete for 44 gold medals from 14 sports competed.
