The Central U-22 Indonesian National Team Is Trying For Elkan Baggott To Appear At The 2023 SEA Games

JAKARTA - The U-22 Indonesian national team manager, Sudarmadji, admitted that he was trying to get Elkan Baggott to be called up for the 2023 SEA Games.

Elkann's name is indeed included in the list of players who have been sent to the committee. The player who is now playing in the Premier League was also once teased by the PSSI General Chair, Erick Thohir, to be able to take part in the biennial event.

Sudarmadji said his party was still trying to get Elkan to play, at least for two games.

"Probably for Elkan, we are still trying our best to be able to join. Although later whether to follow after two matches or once matches, we will inform Elkan about Elkan," said Sudarmaji to reporters, as quoted by Antara.

Apart from Elkan, Sudarmadji also stated that his party had written with the clubs that oversee the Indonesian U-22 national team players who were abroad. For Marselino and Pratama Arhan, it is hoped that they will be able to join this weekend.

"If the others, God willing, we will try to hopefully join in the near future," said the member of the police with the rank of Commissioner

Previously, the U-22 Indonesian national team coach, Indra Sjafri, felt confident with the stronger condition of his squad. In addition to being strengthened by players who take part abroad, he also summoned a number of players who were prepared for the U-20 World Cup.

"We also called a number of U-20 team players to take part in the U-22 team training camp. After seeing the results of the drawing, I always talk to the players, whoever the opponent is, we must remain focused, remain vigilant, and work hard to be the best," said Indra Sjafri.
