Jordi Really Values That The Indonesian National Team Has The Potential To Make Burundi A Trouble

JAKARTA - Indonesian national team defender Jordi Amat assessed that his team's potential to trouble Burundi in a friendly match. He hopes to perform well with his colleagues in the match later.

Garuda troops are scheduled to face Burundi twice on FIFA Matchday. The first match will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2023 tomorrow, at Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, West Java.

Jordi said African players are always difficult to deal with. However, Indonesia has a line of quality players who can make it difficult for Burundi's troops.

"But I am confident we will play good football. The coach's idea is very good. Let's hope we can play a good game, and all Indonesian people can enjoy it," Jordi said as quoted by Antara.

Jordi previously strengthened the Indonesian national team in the AFF Cup at the end of last year. At that time, the journey of Shin Tae-yong's team only reached the semifinals after being eliminated by Vietnam.

Reflecting on the competition, the 31-year-old said that Indonesia has advantages when playing attacking. They can bring this capital to fight Burundi later.

"We like to master the rhythm of the game and I expect the same for these two games. Yes, let's hope we can win both matches," said the former Rayo Vallecano player.

Jordi is likely to have a duet with Elkan Baggott in the defense. At the 2022 AFF Cup, Elkan was not released by his club at that time, Gillingham FC, because they were still struggling in two competitions.

This possibility was welcomed by Jordi. He considered Elkan to be a player who had good quality so that if it was duet it could have a significant impact on the game.

"Elkan is a good player, and I'm really happy to play with him. So we'll just look at the line-up, his first eleven. But I can also say we have a strong team, everyone can be played," said Jordi.

Burundi is currently ranked 141 FIFA. This position is clearly much better than Indonesia, which occupies the 151st position in the ranking of the parent of international football.
