Hokky Caraka And Dreams Of Making History For Indonesia

PSS Sleman striker, Hokky Caraka, will be Indonesia's mainstay in the 2023 U-20 World Cup. He will spearhead the Garuda Nusantara Squad in terms of breaking into the opponent's goal.

Hokky Caraka was also enthusiastic in welcoming the U-20 World Cup. He has big ambitions, making a new history with the Indonesian national team at the U-20 World Cup which will be held from May 20 to June 11, 2023 in Indonesia.

"We want to excel in this world championship. In addition, we are the hosts, we want to make a new history for Indonesia at the U-20 World Cup later," said Hokky, as reported by Antara.

Furthermore, Hokky said he was happy to be given the trust of coach Shin Tae-yong. He also hopes that he can show the best quality under the leadership of the South Korean coach.

"We are also following the coach's direction, and hopefully we can maximize (his hard work), and not disappoint at the (U-20) World Cup," said Hokky.

"I also hope that the community will continue to support the national team in tomorrow's championship. Hopefully (the support) can burn the spirit of the players. We will continue to be enthusiastic and will not run out of fuel for the U-20 World Cup later," he added.

Meanwhile, coach Shin assessed that Hokky had the passion and potential to spread his wings in football's career. Shin advised Hokky not only to focus on physical training, but also to always forge a mentality so that it is equally strong.

"I value him well and in the future he can definitely be even better. However, of course there is a need for strong effort and mentality," said Shin.

"Hokky, I value quite well at the Southeast Asian level. Efforts and mentality are also needed so that he can develop further, not only in Southeast Asia but also in other (regions). There is potential for Hokky to develop as a good Indonesian football player," he continued.

Agreeing, PSSI Technical Director Indra Sjafri continued, focus is another key for Hokky and other young Indonesian football players to have a bright future in the sport of their favorite sport.

"Being the best requires hard work. The important thing is to focus on a career, and later it will be the best," said Indra.
