New Hope Everton Now Stuck In The Hand Of Burnley's 'Buangan' Manager

JAKARTA - Everton has found a replacement for Frank Lampard who was recently fired. Now the new hope rests on Sean Dyche's shoulders.

The former Burnley manager was officially appointed as the new captain of The Toffees. He was tied to a two-and-a-half-year contract until June 2025.

Dyche is expected to lift Everton, who is currently second-bottom of the Premier League standings. The team from Merseyside has only won 15 points in 20 matches.

"It is an honor to be Everton coach. My staff and I are ready and excited to help this great club get back on track," Dyche said in a statement quoted by Antara via AFP, Monday, January 30.

"I know about Everton's passionate fanbase and how valuable this club is to them. We are ready to work and ready to give what they want."

"It all started with sweat on the clothes, effort and came back to some basic principles from what Everton Football Club has long had," he continued.

Everton's last win came in October last year while beating Crystal Palace 3-0 at home. After that, Lampard failed to present a positive result until he was finally kicked out of the team manager's seat.

Dyche himself has been "employed" since April last year when he was sacked by Burnley. During his training on Burnley, he has brought the club promoted twice to the Premier League of England and qualified for the Europa League for the first time in 51 years.
