Indonesia Masters 2023: Apriyani/Fadia Become First Vice Hosts To Escape Quarter-finals, Here's Ginting's Fate

JAKARTA - Indonesian women's doubles, Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, managed to advance smoothly to the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Masters 2023. Meanwhile, two other Indonesian representatives in the men's singles and doubles sector ran aground.

Appearing at Istora Senayan on Thursday, January 26 at noon Wib, Apriyani/Fadia beat Taipei representatives Hu Ling Fang/Lin Xiao Min. Efforts to win tickets to the last eight are not very smooth. Apriyani/Fadia won straight two games with a score of 22-20 and 21-16 in 47 minutes.

Apriyani/Fadia felt the resistance at the beginning of the first game. Deputy Taipei gave resistance until the early interval Apriyani/Fadia fell behind with a score of 10-11.

The thin difference made the seven-seeded women's doubles excited to turn things around after the break. This is evidenced by a calmer and more focused appearance to be able to secure the first game with a score of 22-20.

Entering the second game, the fight got hotter. This Indonesian representative tried to dominate Hu/Lin's movement with a fast game. The pattern was successfully applied and made the collection of points in the second interval 11-9 ahead.

After the break, Hu/Lin actually fought back. They tried to stick to tight points, the twin points had occurred at 15-15 but in the end the victory belonged to the Indonesian representatives with a score of 21-16.

"We are grateful because our pattern of play is put together. From the start I said Fadia because one of our opponents is good, so try to press it to the less one. We apply a calm game and are consistent with communication to the coach and thank God it went smoothly," said Apriyani after the match.

Meanwhile, Ginting and Sabar Gautama/Mohamad Reza had to accept the bitter result. Both must end the struggle faster.

Both failed to penetrate the quarter-finals after losing in the hands of their respective opponents.

Ginting fell with a score of 21-19, 21-16 against Chinese representative ShinYu Qi. Meanwhile, Sabar/Reza lost to He Ji Ting/Zhou Hao Dong with a score of 20-22 and 17-21.

That way, Apriyani/Fadia became the first Indonesian representatives to qualify for the quarter-finals. They will challenge Thailand's fourth-placed representatives, Jongkolphan Kittitharakul/Rawinda Prajongjai.
