PSSI Urges To Check The Code Of Ethics For Forging Signatures For The Termination Of League 2

JAKARTA - PSSI was urged to conduct a code of ethics examination regarding the profiteering of fake signatures that supported the termination of the 2022 '2023 Liga 2 season competition. The pressure was conveyed by the CEO of Liga 2 Club Karo United Effendi Syahputra after the meeting of the owner (owner meeting) which took place at the Sultan Hotel, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

"I, as the owner of the voting rights (voters), ask verbally and directly to the forum for PSSI to conduct a code of ethics examination because this is a serious ethical violation for me," he said at a press conference.

The signature forgery was then used by the PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) to form the basis for stopping Liga 2 which was announced on Thursday, January 12 after the meeting.

The signature is contained in the letter "Commissioned Statement of Liga 2 Club 2022 2023". The letter contains the majority of the club's support for stopping the competition as a result of the tragedy of Kanjuruhan in early October.

Including Effendi's own signature. It is said that every signator of the signatories reportedly received Rp. 15 million as transportation money. In fact, Effendi felt that he had never had one voice to support the termination of League 2.

"Now friends, please oversee whether the code of ethics will be implemented or not. We will prove whether PSSI management is serious or not," Effendi added.

The owner's meeting itself then decided that there should be a recommendation from the current board to the new board at the extraordinary congress (KLB) in February to continue Liga 2.

The plan is for the continuation of Liga 2 to start kick off on February 24 with a bubble system and several breaks. The first pause occurred in Ramadan, while the next break was at the U-20 World Cup.

"All we can do now is elect the executive committee, deputy general chairman, and general chairman, which sided with the League 2 continuation," said Effendi.
