JAKARTA - Indonesian racer Sean Gelael is happy and satisfied to be working with MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi in one racing team.

Currently Sean and Rossi are in Dubai to prepare for Dubai 24 Hours 2023. The two riders who are currently defending the #46 WRT Team were seen together at Dubai Autodrome on Tuesday, January 10 yesterday.

"Rossi doesn't place himself as a MotoGP superstar at all. We discussed a lot for car development," Sean said in a statement received.

Rossi and Sean are actually included in the Team WRT extended family throughout 2022. However, both of them have never been in the same team because they competed in different championships.

At that time, Sean joined the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and became the runner-up in the LMP2 class world. Meanwhile, Rossi was at the GT World Challenge Europe.

Even though he has been poor across the world of car racing, Sean has only recently rushed GT cars. This car is different from LMP2 even though it is both used for endurance racing.

"I got a lot of new things from the BMW M4 GT3 car, because there are indeed many differences with LMP2 cars even though they are both for endurance races," explained Sean.

The Dubai 24 Hours race will take place from Saturday, January 14 to Sunday, January 15. However, a Creventic Track Days test session has been held since Tuesday.

Lap time in this test is actually not that important. The reason is, Creventic Track Days are just a kind of recognition test that can help drivers adapt to their cars

Rossi and Sean will be accompanied by three other riders, namely Maxime Martin (Belgium), Whale Team (England), and one name determined later. The five of them drove a BMW M4 GT3.

Dubai 24 Hours is part of the 24H Series. This is a warm-up event that Sean can use as well as possible before returning to the FIA WEC Championships starting next March.

The Dubai 24 Hours race has been held since 2006 and changed to 24 hours in 2015. The main classes contested were GT3 and Sean, Rossi, with the BMW M Team WRT #46 taking part.
