5 Big Boxing Match In 2023: Anthony Joshua Vs Oleksandr Usyk Teras

JAKARTA - Box fans are looking forward to a big party that is likely to occur in 2023. There are a number of duels that will bring together the big names of this new year. At the top of the list is the grand battle of the unification of the four heavyweight division belts to find the world champion that was denied between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

The two boxers are reported to have agreed to meet in the ring in the first quarter of March. Both of them are ready to sign a contract agreement.

The duel between Fury and Usyk is expected to occur in England or in the Middle East. The location and how much money the two boxers need to receive is currently in discussion.

Here are five boxing duels that may materialize in 2023:

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk

This is the biggest fight boxing fans have been waiting for because the two of them currently hold the four major heavyweight world title belts.

Fury previously announced his retirement after defeating Dillian Whyte last April. However, the King ofTEN then returned to action against Derek Chisora in early December.

Meanwhile, Usyk, who holds the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO titles, last fought Anthony Joshua last August. He won the rematch to keep his title.

Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder

Anthony Joshua came under pressure this year after suffering a loss against Usyk. The 33-year-old London 2012 Olympic gold medalist lost his weightweight world title by losing two straight duels to the Ukrainian boxer.

Therefore, AJ will automatically try to find his first win earlier this year after failing to fight Tyson Fury in December.

Meanwhile, Wilder has risen from two defeats against Tyson Fury by hitting Robert Helenius in a brutal knockout victory (KO) last October.

Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury

Jake Paul and Tommy Fury will probably meet for the third time. The light heavyweight Fury has an 8-0 unbeaten professional boxing record.

The 23-year-old was supposed to fight Paul Bamba last month. However, he failed to weigh so he only fought Rolly Lambert in an exhibition fight that ended without a winner.

Ricky Hatton vs Manny Pacquiao

Two boxing legends can meet again in the ring after a long retirement from the sport that raised them. Hatton previously lost their second career against Pacquiao in 2009.

At that time, he was taken to knock out in the second round of the Filipino fighter. The defeat made him lose the IBO and The Ring welterweight titles.

Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn

The two boxers were supposed to meet in October. Unfortunately, Benn failed two drug tests which resulted in the fight being canceled and forced him to be kicked out of the world rankings.

However, Benn recently claimed his team had proven himself not to be wrong. If proven innocent and released from any ban, Benn will be free to face Eubank Jr again to resolve their feud.

However, Eubank Jr will face Liam Smith first on January 21.
