Shin Tae-yong Regretted The Action Of A Supporter Damaged Thai Bus: We Can Just Compete Without A Audience At The Stadium

JAKARTA - A number of supporters took disgraceful actions ahead of the match between the Indonesian national team and Thailand in the 2022 AFF Cup at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Thursday, December 29.

Supporter is suspected of destroying the bus the Thai team was traveling in. Police are reportedly investigating this case.

The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, regretted this incident. He said supporters should respect the opponent.

"If we receive sanctions from FIFA due to this, we could compete without spectators at the stadium," Shin said, as reported by Antara, Friday, December 30.

The South Korean tactician also asked Indonesian supporters not to repeat similar actions. Because, it is not impossible that a similar attitude will be accepted by Indonesian supporters when they travel to an opposing country.

Meanwhile, Thailand's national team coach Alexandre Polking urged the organizing committee in Indonesia to pay more attention to security organization when holding international matches. What his team experienced, called Alexandre, should have been anticipated from the start.

"Everyone knows that the bus will pass that road. There is a police car in front but thousands of supporters are waiting for us. This is not good," said the man who is usually greeted with Mano.

However, Mano did not make what they experienced before the match as an excuse for the 1-1 series of his squad with Indonesia.

As reported, the bus carrying players, coaches and Thai officials received attacks from the host supporters moments before entering SUGBK. As a result, the bus window was cracked.
