JAKARTA - The MotoGP factory team from Italy, Ducati, is still wary of the continuity of their cooperation with Francesco Bagnaia. To anticipate Bagnaia's departure, they took Izan Guevara as a substitute.

General Manager of Ducati Corse, Luigi Dall'Igna has even signaled interest in Guevara. The reason is clear that the young racer managed to show good performance with Gasgas Aspar in Moto3 2022.

The 18-year-old came out as champions after collecting 319 points from 20 races. He got seven wins and 12 podiums.

The success of becoming the Moto3 world champion is promoting Guevara to Moto2 2023 to become Jake Dixon's partner for next season.

Ducati still has a cooperation contract with Bagnaia until 2024. However, DallIgna admits that he is worried that the 2022 MotoGP champion will leave Ducati after his contract expires.

"In your life you never know what will happen. Maybe Pecco ( Bagnaia's nickname) will leave, we have a two-year contract, the relationship is very good and in difficult times we can help each other. It will be difficult, but in life you never know," said Dall. Igna.

Although he has an interest in Guevara, Ducati's opportunity to get the player is not much. The reason is, Guevara is an Aspar Gas Force racer who is part of the KTM.
