Fill All CBF Criteria, Zinedine Zidane Enters Brazil's Coach Candidate

JAKARTA The names of the legend and former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane are included in the list of candidates for coach of the Brazilian national team.

The 50-year-old tactician is said to have met all the criteria for the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) who is looking for a replacement for Tite after the disappointing World Cup campaign.

Previously, Carlo Ancelotti's name was also mentioned in the report about Tite's successor. However, the Italian tactician instead chose to focus on Madrid, which he succeeded in between last season's European Champions League champions.

"For now, I feel good at Real Madrid. We have a lot of goals this season," Ancelotti told Radio Anchio Sport recently as quoted by Marca.

Zidane's name began to appear after a statement issued by Ancelotti. French media outlet L'Equipe claims the 1998 World Cup winner could be one of the potential candidates for Brazil's coach.

As is known, the head of the plontos is currently out of work. Therefore, he could be tempted by the offer made by CBF.

However, work in Brazil relies heavily on the decision Didier Deschamps will make with the French national team.

If Deschamps resigns from Les Bleus' squad then Zidane will most likely accept an offer from the French Football Federation (FFF) to become the successor to his former teammate.

However, the possibility of Deschamps stepping down is relatively small. FFF President Noel Le Graet previously said he wanted to keep the coach until the 2030 World Cup.

"Why not 2030? We will spend time together talking a little bit about what happened in Qatar and what it wants and how we consider the 2024 European Cup," he said a few days ago.

Apart from Zidane, Marcelo Gallardo, Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Roberto Martinez, and Rafa Benitez, were also touted as potential candidates in the report.
