JAKARTA - Women's doubles badminton player Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti said her debut in the 2022 BWF World Tour Finals year-end tournament in Bangkok, Thailand, gave her a valuable experience to be more patient when playing super tight matches.

In the tournament which took place on December 7-11, Fadia, who was paired with Apriyani Rahayu, was in the "hell group" which was filled with the top seeded women's doubles, thus providing heavy pressure for the Indonesian duo.

"The group is very cruel. We just play without a burden, because we can go to the World Tour Finals and have a bonus. So we don't think we have to win, it's more about how to control ourselves," said Fadia, quoted by Antara, Saturday, December 24.

In the preliminary round of the World Tour Finals 2022, the Apri/Fadia pair occupied Group A which was also filled by world number one Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan and Zhang Shu Xian/Zheng Yu from China, and Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan from Malaysia.

Apri/Fadia only won a single victory which was obtained from Malaysian women's doubles in the first match which failed to reach the semifinals.

Fadia, who first played in the World Tour Finals, also learned about the consistency of the game when competing in the tournament which used the half-finals (roundrobin).

Apri/Fadia successfully issued the best strategy and performance in the first match, but unfortunately it was not repeated in the second and third matches against representatives of China.

"When we were against the first pair, we were right, maybe when we were against China we weren't ready. They had also prepared the World Tour Finals from afar, while our (preparation) was very tight and managing focus was difficult," said Fadia.

In fact, this not smooth move did not discourage the athlete who graduated from the PB Djarum Kudus club. Fadia is actually happy to compete in the World Tour Finals and increase her flight hours from the 2022 season.

"I feel sure I'm happy because I was given the opportunity. At first, I gave up, I won't play, but I got the opportunity to play, I'm sure I'm happy," concluded Fadia.
