"Winning, champion, losing, injury is what happened in my career in basketball. I believe there is a lesson in all of this. The most important thing is prayer, effort and hard work have been done," he added.

The basketball player who is familiarly called Pak We also expressed his gratitude to the big family of IBL, Perbasi, and a number of clubs he had strengthened during his career.

He hopes that the long journey of his career as a professional basketball player can inspire many people, especially young players.

"Thank you everyone, hopefully the journey of my life can inspire many people, especially in the field of basketball. Keep going, Indonesian basketball," said Pak We.

After retiring, Pak We gave a signal that he would not leave the world of basketball which had made his name.

He revealed that he would continue to contribute, especially at Dewa United Banten in IBL 2023 later.

"Now I will take a role to help Dewa United, along with Coach Maxi and the entire line of players, officials, and management," Wendha said.

Before entering the professional level, Wendha first joined basketball club Halim Kediri.

After that, he appeared at the National Student Sports Week (Popnas) in 1999 presenting a gold medal for East Java. One year later, Satria Muda offered him to join the junior team.

Then, Wendha also made his professional debut in 2001 when he was promoted to the main first team of Satria Muda to compete in Kobatama.

He played 10 years with Satria Muda until 2010. After that, moved to Garuda Bandung until 2017, then moved to NSH Jakarta. In 2019 he was anchored to the Louvre which has now changed his identity to Dewa United Banten.
