ICAL Knight, UFC Fighter Jan Blachowicz Asks Referees To Give Titles To Opposites Because Of Controversial Results

JAKARTA - UFC fighter Jan Blachowicz has asked the referee to give the championship belt to Magomed Ankalaev after controversial results at UFC 282.

Blachowicz and Ankalaev fought at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, United States on Sunday, December 11 yesterday. Both got into a fierce battle for five rounds.

This fight ended in controversy because it was not winning. However, many consider Ankalaev worthy of taking home the championship belt, including Blachowicz himself.

The Sun reported that Blachowicz had approached Ankalaev after the duel. He then told the referee to give the title to his opponent. "Give the belt to Ankalaev," he said.

Both fighters got different points from the three judges on duty. Two judges gave one win each for both fighters, while the third jury gave the same score.

Mike Bell thinks that Blachowicz won 48-47, Derek Cleary gave a 48-46 mark for Ankalaev's victory, while Sal D'Amato assessed that the duel ended in a draw with a score of 47-47.

Ankalaev, who felt aggrieved, also expressed his disappointment in his post-match speech. He felt confident that he should be appointed the winner of the duel.

"I don't know what to say, I won that fight. I myself did not decide the winner. Where is my belt, I won this belt," he said.

"I did what was necessary to get this win. I always did what I had to do to adjust, I could do everything," he added.

Blachowicz and Ankalaev boarded the octagon to fight for an empty light heavyweight title after champion Jiri Prochazka was forced to vacate his belt due to a shoulder injury that left him estimated to be out for half a year.

However, after this draw, UFC President Dana White immediately announced that former Gloover title holder Teixeira would challenge Jamahal Hill to fight for the belt.
