Arema FC secured three points after winning with a narrow score 2-1 over Persis Solo in the 13th week of Liga 1 Indonesia 2022/2023 at Jatidiri Stadium, Semarang, Sunday afternoon.

The two Arema FC winning goals were scored by Dedik Setiawan, while Persis had time to reduce the gap through Ryo Matsumura, according to the Indonesian League records.

Despite winning, the team nicknamed SingoEdan is still in 9th position in the Indonesian League 1 standings with 20 points from 13 matches, while Persis is ranked 11th with 14 points.

In the first half, Arema FC immediately took the initiative to attack and was able to score in the 5th minute after Dedik Setiawan executed a penalty kick well so that the score turned 1-0.

Persis Solo tried to equalize and threatened through Samsul Arif's kick in Arema FC's penalty box, but the ball was blocked by Adilson Maringa.

The Sambernyawa Laskar squad managed to equalize in the 33rd minute when a pass from a Spanish striker, Fernando Rodriguez, was able to be obtained by Ryo Matsumura.

The Japanese player had controlled the ball in front of Arema FC's penalty box before finally releasing a hard shot into the right corner of the goal which Maringa could not reach so the score changed 1-1. The score lasted until halftime.

In the second half, Arema FC took the initiative to attack and striker Ilham Udin Armayn fired a shot that was still sideways from the Persis goal.

Javier Roca's squad continued to send attacks into Persis' defense and paid off in the 60th minute when a pass from Irsyad Maulana was met by Dedik Setiawan.

Dedik, who managed to move between the defenders Persis, was able to get the ball and fired a shot that Gianluca Pandeynuwu couldn't stop so the score turned 2-1.

In the remaining time of the second half, Persis Solo tried to find a equalizer, but Arema FC was able to maintain the advantage so that the score 2-1 for Singo Edan's victory remained.
