2022 World Cup: Beat Senegal 3-0, England France In The Quarter-finals

JAKARTA - The last 16 match between England and Senegal which took place at the Al Bayt Stadium on Monday morning WIB ended in a 3-0 Three Lions victory. Gareth Southgate's three goals were scored by Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane, and Bukayo Saka.

In this match, Southgate re-entered Saka into the England squad. As a result, Marcus Rashford was stripped of the line-up despite scoring two goals against Wales.

Rashford's two goals inspired a 3-0 win over The Dragons in the final Group B match which saw England advance to the last 16.

Southgate prefers Saka over the Manchester United star who is England's top scorer with three goals.

Saka himself scored in England's 6-2 win against Iran.

Southgate also did not include Raheem Sterling because it had something to do with "family problems".

Meanwhile, Senegal was not strengthened by midfielder Idrissa Gueye who was suspended so Nampalys Mendy entered the squad

Krepin Diatta is also a starter for Senegal to replace Pape Gueye.

England played pressing from the start. Liverpool midfielder opened the Three Lions' victory with a shot from the penalty box in the 38th minute and was doubled by Harry Kane during the first half injury time.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker received a pass from Phil Foden and shot the ball from the right side of the penalty box with his right foot. The ball hit Edourad Mendy's goal tirelessly.

In the second half, Saka brought England further away. Receiving Foden's cross from the right side of Senegal's defense, the Arsenal midfielder scored the Three Lions' third goal in the 57th minute.

With this 3-0 win, the Three Lions will face France in the quarter-finals that beat Poland 3-1 in the previous match.
