JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, called out the name Ilija Spasojevic in the training camp (TC) for the 2022 AFF Cup. The Bali United striker replaced Dimas Drajad, who was reportedly injured.

The player who is familiarly called Spaso started training with other Garuda squads on Wednesday, November 30, yesterday. He seemed to be able to follow the rhythm of the Indonesian national team's training even though he had just joined.

Spaso said he was happy to finally be able to join the Indonesian national team again. Understandably, he has not been called up for a long time to defend the Garuda squad.

Again won the trust to wear the national team uniform, the Montenegro-born player will not waste the opportunity given.

"I got another chance and I believe I can answer coach Shin Tae-yong's trust," said Spaso, as reported on PSSI's official website, Thursday, December 1.

The 35-year-old player also admitted that he had no physical problems. Even though the competition did not work, Spaso continued to undergo regular training with Bali United.

"My physical condition is good because Bali United still trains six times a week even though the league doesn't work anymore. So I came to the national team tc and I was ready to play," said the player who had played in the Malaysian League.

Spaso's call to the Indonesian national team TC is actually not so surprising. If you look at the player's performance in the Indonesian League 1 competition, the player who was born on September 11, 1987 deserves to be called back.

Of the 11 games this season, Spaso has scored 7 goals and one assist.
