JAKARTA The income of the United States football national team during the 2022 Qatar World Cup will be divided fairly with their women's team according to the latest agreement made.

Currently, the United States has confirmed itself to qualify for the last 16 of the most grand competition. They qualified for the knockout stages as runners up in Group B after beating Iran 1-0 in the last match of the morning.

Tickets for the knockout round automatically made America automatically pocketed a prize of 13 million US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 204 billion. If they fail in this round, they will take that number home.

However, that amount will not entirely belong to the men's team (USMNT). The reason is, in a new agreement signed by US Soccer, no matter how much money is brought home from the World Cup, half will be divided into USWNT (women's team).

Thus, a nominal amount of 6.5 million dollars will belong to USWNT. This number is much greater than the total the US women's team had received after winning the 2015 and 2019 Women's World Cups.

From the two titles they brought home, the USWNT team received a total of 6 million dollars. In detail, they received a $2 million prize in 2015, following four years later they pocketed 4 million dollars.

The above agreement also applies the opposite when the US women's team brings home any prizes from the World Cup will still be shared fairly with their men's teams.

Next year there will be a Women's World Cup with a total prize coffers estimated at around 60 million dollars. The nominal is almost seven times smaller than the total prize prepared for the Men's World Cup.

However, that number may still increase because recently there has been constant pressure so that there is no prize gap between the Women's and Men's World Cups, if possible, it is not too big.

If USWNT wins the 2023 World Cup, or whatever money it makes from its participation, 50 percent will enter the team currently playing in Qatar.
