Wales are likely to fail to reach the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup as their last opponent in Group B is England who only needed a draw in a match known as the Battle of Britain, Tuesday morning tomorrow.

Wales are in Group B with one point or three points behind England, and they are one and two points behind Iran and the United States respectively.

If England gets just one point from the match against Wales, and at the same time one from Iran or the United States wins their game, Wales will automatically return early from Qatar.

65-four years Wales have been waiting to re-enter the World Cup finals, but after their goal was broken twice by Iran last week, it looks like the team will only be in Qatar soon.

Manager Gareth Southgate may field back in the same first eleven as the previous two games.

But it's a good idea for him to try a new composition, especially after being held to a 0-0 draw by America. If this step Southgate takes, then Jack Grealish and striker Callum Wilson deserve to be played from the first minute.

England can only be eliminated from this tournament if they lose four goals, and this is very tough for Wales. Therefore, there is nothing wrong with Southgate making a new formula considering the risk is also very small.

Saving the striker Harry Kane for the last 16 match was also a consideration behind the squad's recomposition.

The 2018 World Cup Golden Boot winner, who has yet to score in the 2022 World Cup, needs time to recover after suffering an ankle injury against Iran.

"Maybe it's time to rest him (Kane) for the death phase later, and I feel like Callum Wilson might come in to face Wales," former England national team star Alan Shearer was quoted as saying by Reuters.

"Besides, the UK needs to refresh itself in order to regain a good feeling factor after a disappointing draw against the US, and to restore a little confidence," Shearer continued.

Gareth Bale was the only Wales player to score against England in the 21st century when Wales lost 1-2 in 2016.

England is drawing enough to reach the knockout round, on the other hand Wales must beat England while hoping the United States match against Iran ends in a draw. If one of the US or Iran wins, then Wales will have to beat England with at least four goals.
