JAKARTA - PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) has prepared a follow-up scenario for the 2022/2023 Liga 1 competition. They will start holding the competition again on December 2.
In addition, the league operator will hold a League 1 continuation with a bubble system in Central Java. This system will last until the end of the first round or until the match week 17th.
While in the second half of the season, Liga 1 will return to its home-and-away scheme.
"The continuation of Liga 1 is planned to start December 2, 2022. For the bubble, it will be without spectators and we want to finish the first round first," said LIB President Director Ferry Paulus, as quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 24.
According to Ferry, the policy without spectators was issued so that LIB and the club could smooth out the implementation of new post-traged regulations at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, in early October.
Meanwhile, PT LIB chose Central Java because it is located in the middle of Java Island and has adequate infrastructure that has been verified by the Ministry of PUPR. There are four stadiums prepared for the Liga 1 bubble scheme, namely Maguwoharjo Stadium (Sleman), Jatidiri Stadium (Semarang), Sultan Agung Stadium ( Bantul) and dr Moch Soebroto Stadium (Magelang).
Ferry Paulus also emphasized that all Liga 1 2022-2023 teams agree with the bubble scheme. "Everything agrees because this is in accordance with the dynamics of the regulations from the police which will be harmonized starting from the permit process, the implementation of the match to evaluation," said Ferry.
The man who previously served as Director of Sports Persija continued, the first round of the Indonesian League 2-22-2023 is expected to be completed before the inaugural match of the Indonesian national team competing in the 2022 AFF Cup, namely on December 23, 2022.
This is so that clubs are more sluggish in releasing their players to the Indonesian national team.
"Our target is that December 22, 2022, the first round will be completed. That's part of our hope to help the national team to be completely free. The club's friends have agreed not to block their players from the national team. For the start of the second round, we haven't got a schedule yet, but for sure in early or mid-January 2023," said Ferry.
To align all plans related to the continuation of Liga 1, Ferry Paulus said that the LIB would attend the coordination meeting which will be held on Monday, November 28.
