Jonathan Rea Has A Beautiful Moment At The Mandalika Circuit, But Doesn't Want To Think About Champion Competition

MANDALIKA - Balapan World Superbike (WSBK) continues at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, 11-13 November 2022. Kawasaki racer Jonathan Rea is very enthusiastic about this race because he has good memory last season.

At WSBK Mandalika 2021, Rea was twice on the championship podium. In fact, it was his first experience racing on the pride circuit of the Indonesian people.

The British racer admitted that he really enjoyed the entire series of WSBK Mandalika races last season. Starting from the circuit design to the atmosphere.

"Fans there is extraordinary, especially in difficult conditions. (The Mandalika Circuit) is a place that demands us to be strong and last year I won a double win," said Rea. I won on a wet and dry track, so I really want to get good results this weekend. I will fight with a Ninja ZX-10RR and try to maximize our potential," he said.

Rea said he would bring last year's positive atmosphere to this race. He admitted that it had increased since last year.

However, it won't make him relax. The problem is that everyone has also developed their abilities.

"We need to see where we will be later," he said.

Jonathan Rea currently occupies the third position of the drivers' standings with 409 points. His chances of becoming the 2022 WSBK world champion are actually still there, but very small.

The reason is, Rea is 98 points adrift of Alvaro Bautista who leads the standings. By leaving two series of races, he still has a chance.

However, he doesn't want to think about that right now. "Thinking about the Championship is a bit ridiculous now. Alvaro has done an amazing job. I will focus on myself and I will do the best I can this weekend," he concluded.
