Target The Addition Of Three Sports Centers New, Sleman Encourages Football Progress

SLEMAN - Deputy Regent of Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta Danang Maharsa targets six Sport Centers by 2023. Currently, Sleman Regency already has three Sport Centers.

"Sleman residents should be proud that Sleman has many supporting facilities for sports, especially for football," said Danang Maharsa at the opening of the PSSI Sleman Regional Association (Askab) Annual Congress, quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 6.

According to him, the Sport Center facility is used to support the spirit of sports, especially for the world of football in Sleman.

"Hopefully, cohesiveness, we can maintain this good cooperation to meet competitions, matches in 2023," he said.

He hopes that the PSSI Sleman Askab congress can be used as a joint evaluation material.

"The good thing is we maintain, which we have not discussed the solution together," he said.

PSSI Askab Chairman Sleman Wahyudi Kurniawan said Sleman is a fertile land for Indonesian football development.

"This is supported starting from complete infrastructure facilities, human resources, coaches and clubs," he said.

He also hopes that this good thing can be a source of strength for Sleman Regency.

"We have everything, infrastructure, human resources, coaches to academy clubs. Hopefully Sleman can also become fertile land for the development of Indonesian football," he said.

Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Sleman Joko Hastaryo, also expressed his appreciation for Sleman Regency. Moreover, with the success of becoming the overall champion of the XVI DIY Porda in 2022.

Joko hopes that Sleman can continue to produce outstanding athletes for the future.

"Hopefully with this achievement, Sleman athletes can continue to excel both for beginners and professional players," he said.

Meanwhile, PSSI DIY Asprov General Chair Ahmad Syauqi Soeratno said that Sleman managed to show his identity through the annual congress.

According to him, football must still run as a form of character building of the nation.

Ahmad assessed that Sleman can be the Qibla of Askab in DIY if it can maintain consistency and discipline.

"Let's keep this spirit, maintain discipline so that Sleman can become the Askab Qibla in DIY," he said.
