16 Days Towards The 2022 World Cup: India's Public Evidence Highly Citing Messi, A 9-meter Poster Opposed In The River

JAKARTA - A giant poster measuring 9.1 meters with a picture of Lionel Messi displayed a number of his supporters in India. This is a form of their support for the Argentine national team ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The poster then went viral on social media. The reason is, his position is in the middle of the Kadavu Basin River in Pullavor Village, Kerala, India.

According to local media reports, Onmanorama, the Argentine superstar poster was posted by the Argentine Fans Association Pullavoor.

The image features La Pulga in an Argentine national team costume with his iconic back number, which is 10. The poster was busy on social media after one of the fans named Rizwan uploaded videos and pictures on Twitter social media.

In a post on Twitter, a group of Messi fans can be seen carrying the poster across the village alley and walking down the plantation road to reach the post site.

"We want to mark that opportunity with something special and who else but Messi deserves it more," said Ashik Ahamed, a member of the fan association as quoted by Onmanorama.

The fan group that posted the Messi poster had the belief their idol could bring La Albiceleste to the champions in Qatar by the end of this year. They hope that Argentina will end the 36-year wait since Mexico's last title in 1986.

Messi is likely to retire from Argentina after this year's World Cup national team. To that end, if he wins in the Middle East, it will be a sweet end to his outstanding career journey.

Previously Messi had defended Argentina in four different World Cups (2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018). His best achievement was reaching the 2014 edition final in Brazil, but losing against Germany.

Qatar World Cup will start in Qatar on November 20. Albiceleste, who have not lost 35 games so far, will start their campaign against Saudi Arabia on November 22.
