MotoGP Malaysia Schedule 23 October 2022: Francesco Bagnaia In Ambang Champion

JAKARTA The Malaysian MotoGP Grand Prix will take place this weekend. Francesco Bagnaia could also lock up the world title if the following five scenarios occur.

The Malaysian Grand Prix will be held at the Sepang Circuit, Sunday, October 23 this weekend. These are the last two series of the season before closing in Valencia on November 6.

Bagnaia is still in the top position of the drivers' standings. The Italian rider who rode Ducati has collected 233 points after finishing in Australia last week in third place.

Besides Bagnaia, defending champion Fabio Quartararo, also still has a chance in hand. The French racer sits in second place with a difference of 14 points from the leader.

Thus, the title race could have lasted until the last series. However, there is also the possibility that Bagnaia can hold the title this weekend.

To be able to lock the title, Bagnaia must at least fulfill several scenarios. One of them must win (25 points) and Quartararo finish in fourth place (13) points or worse than that.

Then he could also finish second (20), but with Quartararo's record having to be seventh (9 points) and Aleix Espargaro who are currently in third place in the standings, did not win the race.

In the third scenario, even Bagnaia was able to win third (16 points) this season. However, Quartararo had to be at P11 (5 points) or worse, and Espargaro was not in the top two.

Furthermore, despite completing the race in fourth place (13 points), Bagnaia automatically won if Quartararo P14 (2 points) or worse while Espargaro could not finish in the top three.

Meanwhile, the last requirement is Bagnaia P5 in Sepang (11 points) as long as Quartararo does not score points while Aleix Espargaro does not finish on the podium.
