JAKARTA - A number of clubs in league competitions are asked to leave temporarily from their homes. This follows a number of stadiums that will be renovated for the U-20 World Cup venue.

Six stadiums were designated as locations for the U-20 World Cup, namely Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium, Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Manahan Stadium, Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, and Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium.

In fact, the U-20 World Cup will be held in Indonesia in 2021, but with the FIFA decision, the agenda was postponed to 2023. With this decision, four stadiums were still used as homes for actively competing clubs.

Based on this situation, the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali decided to renovate the stadium ahead of its use time for the U-20 World Cup. Menpora assessed that when it became the home of a number of clubs, the condition of the grass and a number of aspects still had to be improved.

"The stadium is being prepared for (U-20 World Cup) 2021, but FIFA has postponed to 2023, so there is a policy that it can be used first as a home for a number of clubs. But surely during use, grass needs repair and maintenance again," said Youth and Sports Minister Zainudin Amali in a written statement received by VOI.

As the person in charge of the organizers, the Menpora has written to FIFA to carry out renovations. After the renovation, the Menpora suggested that the stadium be sterilized temporarily until the U-20 World Cup takes place.

"I sent a letter to FIFA that the renovation will begin, God willing, at the end of this October. It means that after renovating again, it is not allowed for other activities until the U-20 World Cup ends," Amali added.

The decision of the Menpora who asked a number of clubs to leave temporarily from their headquarters could be made in the near future. This is because the League 1 League 1 competition, League 2, and League 3 are currently taking a break after theceruhan Tragedy.

However, when the competition resumes, the situation will make a number of clubs have to rack their brains looking for cages. Regarding this matter, the Minister of Youth and Sports also admitted that he had written to PSSI in coordination with a number of clubs that agreed with the decision.

"I have conveyed it to PSSI and according to information, PSSI has communicated with clubs that League 1, League 2. Even if there is Liga 3, temporarily moving for the greater interest, they cannot use (stadium) and they are okay," explained the Menpora.
