Not Entering The 2023 SEA Games Swimming National Training Center, Siman Sudartawa Curhat On Instagram, Colek Kemenpora And Chairman Of NOC

JAKARTA - National swimming athlete Siman Sudartawa expressed his disappointment at not being included in the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games swimming Pelatnas. He published it on his Instagram account on Monday, October 17 at noon WIB.

The disappointment of the 2019 SEA Games gold medalists was addressed to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Chairman of NOC Raja Sapta Oktohari.

"Thank you for the injustice that did not give us the opportunity (senior) to strengthen the 2023 National Team for the Sea Games in swimming," wrote the 28-year-old athlete.

Previously, news emerged that the Executive Board of the All-Indonesian Swimming Association (PB PRSI) had carried out a promotion and relegation process at the National Training Center.

This is preparation for the Southeast Asian region. However, any athletes who are promoted and relegated are still a question mark.

However, senior swimming athletes such as Glenn Victor Sutanto, Gagarin Nathaniel, Aflah Fadlan Prawira, Ressa Kania Dewi, Patricia Yosita Hapsari, AAI Kania R. Atmaja, and Nurul Fajar Fitriyati, are suspected of having also crossed out their names. The reason is, their Instagram account was marked in Siman's upload.

"I will use this to motivate me and I will prove it," added Siman in his writing.

Siman then tried to answer the questions of many parties why he was dropped from the 2023 SEA Games National Training Center. He admitted that he did not know for sure the reason.

"This is the first time this has happened as long as I have strengthened the swimming team for more than 16 years. Honestly, we don't even know what the real reason is," wrote Siman.

He said these senior athletes were actually still donating in the previous SEA Games.

Siman revealed that there were no clear selections and criteria for the selection of the new team which was decided on October 10.

"The funny thing is, the eight of us who were crossed out still had rank 1 in Indonesia until the decree came out," he explained.

Siman is one of Indonesia's mainstay swimming athletes who has made a series of important achievements in multi-branch events in Southeast Asia.

His name began to soar when he defended Indonesia at the 2011 SEA Games in Palembang. At that time he successfully won four gold medals at once.

In 2019 when the SEA Games took place in the Philippines, Siman also successfully added to his gold medal collection. At that time he was the best in the 50 meters backstroke.
