Receiving A Red Card During The Liverpool Vs City Match, Jurgen Klopp Ngaku Salah: Emotions

JAKARTA - Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted the mistake that made him get a red card when his team won 1-0 over Manchester City, Sunday, October 16, 2022. In that match, Klopp was kicked out by the referee when the match was about to end.

Klopp received a red card because he was deemed to have protested excessively. He also admitted that he was wrong because he was too emotional.

"Yes, it's about emotion, of course. So, of course, the red card is my fault," Klopp said on Liverpool's official website.

"I went forward at the time, I don't think I'm being disrespectful to anyone. But when you see the show coming back, I know myself that my way deserves a red card," he continued.

Klopp also told that the trigger protested strongly against the performance of the field justices.

The initial trigger was Phil Foden's goal for Man City which was annulled by Video Assistant Referee (VAR). He was annoyed that the referee needed VAR to cancel the goal.

Klopp then poured all his anger on the sidelines when Bernardo Silva's action against Mohamed Salah was not considered a violation. He also stabbed the linesman.

Taylor finally stopped the game for a moment to give Klopp a red card.

"I know that, who cares about what I say? I lost control at the time and it was okay," Klopp said.

"But I think a little bit as a reason I want to mention, how can you not protest for that violation? How is that possible? And I hope I can get an explanation," he continued.
