Ilkay Gundogan's Wife Makes A Lot Of Noise On His Social Media About Restaurants In Manchester

JAKARTA - The wife of Manchester City star Ilkay Gundogan caused a stir on social media. Sara Arfaoui complained that there were no good restaurants to eat in Manchester.

He is also fed up with calling it a "terrible frozen food". The 27-year-old woman said there might be a great restaurant in London, but not in Manchester.

Interestingly, one of the restaurants in Manchester belongs to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

Food experts in England reject Sara's assumption. He even labeled the WAGs' comments "not reasonable" because they considered Manchester a gem in food matters.

Sara's shocking statement began with the answer when someone asked about a favorite Manchester restaurant. At that time, he admitted that he was sad to tell the truth.

"Sorry, I'm sad to be honest but nothing. I tried very hard to find a good restaurant but there were only terrible foods everywhere," he wrote.

"Can't find original Italian or delicious server or just fresh food.. everywhere (food) is frozen," he continued.

He said most restaurants only focus on making money with drinks rather than offering quality food.

"Maybe (there is) in London but in Manchester there is nothing. I'm sorry," he continued.

Culinary critic Jay Rayner said the statement from the beautiful model was a ridiculous point of view. He called Manchester full of brilliant independent restaurants.

"This is an absolute gem from places to eat and comments like this during a difficult economic period that doesn't help businesses struggling to meet their needs," he quipped.

One local restaurant owner also criticized Sara's comments. "There are so many great restaurants in Manchester. I suggest you do research before you talk," she said.

"Just because your husband is a footballer and you have money and have everything that might be paid for and an amazing life given to you here in Manchester, you should be grateful for that," the statement continued.

But Sara didn't soften, she just responded scathingly. "So because we are successful people, we can't give an honest opinion?"

I tried all the best restaurants here, but not for me. I can't lie. Unfortunately I'm used to Italy so you can imagine, it's hard to compare."

He added, "It's a great city, great people but not for restaurants."

Sara is not the first WAGs to complain about Manchester City. Jorgelina Cardoso, wife of former Manchester United player Angel Di Maria, once likened it to a hole.
