JAKARTA - The Formula 1 (F1) event in the 2022 season leaves six more series. With that remaining time, a number of teams have determined who will occupy the seats for the 2023 season.

Following Alfa Romeo's decision to keep Zhou Guanyu, there are now three more seats left for next season. Who will fill the chair?

The remaining three seats are in the Alpine, Haas and Williams teams.

Alpine, who is the most competitive team in the rest of the season, is in confusion in determining drivers next season following Fernando Alonso's surprise decision to join Aston Martin.

Meanwhile, Alpine's attempt to bring in Oscar Piastri is also deadlocked because the rider prefers McLaren.

So far, Alpine's strong candidate is Pierre Gasly, but its signing still relies on Red Bull's decision.

Red Bull is willing to release Gasly from his contract early, but it will only be done if they have found adequate candidates to fill his seat. But if not, Gasly will stay with Yuki Tsunoda until 2023.

Haas's situation is not much different because he is still looking for someone who can partner with Kevin Magnussen next year. This follows Mick Schumacher's doubts about the future after undergoing a difficult second F1 season.

Nico leftenberg who is a former Renault rider and Aston Martin's spare racer appeared as a favorite to replace Schumacher. In addition, there was Ferrari's reserve driver Antoine Giovinazzi who had undergone training with Haas last Friday.

It is hoped that the opportunity with Haas will give Giovinazzi a return route to the grid in 2023, after losing his seat at Alfa Romeo at the end of last season.

Guenther Steiner as the head of the Haas team is interested in bringing Ricciardo from McLaren, but the name is expected to take a long leave next year in the hope of becoming the first if the top seat becomes available by 2024.

For Williams, they still have an empty seat after Nicholas Latifi left at the end of the season. The strong candidate for that position fell on Nyck de Vries who had replaced Alex Albion in the Monza series.

Williams has also made an offer for De Vries, but the trip was not smooth because the riders were also on Alpine and AlphaTauri's wanted radars for 2023.

If De Vries chooses to go to another team, Williams still has the option of promoting their now-paced young rider in F2, Logan badan. In addition, William can also use Jack Doohan on loan from Alpine.

Schumacher and Ricciardo could actually be under the scrutiny of Williams' team, but the move for both names seems unlikely at this stage.
