The Success Of Cruzeiro Promotion Was Also Enlivened By The Action Of Putera Ronaldo

JAKARTA - The club belonging to Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima, Cruzeiro, has officially been promoted to the Brazilian Serie A.

Promotion tickets were obtained after a 3-0 win over Vasco da Gama in the 31st week of the Brazil Series B at the Mineirao Stadium on Wednesday local time.

Cruzeiro won the match thanks to goals from Machado, Edu, and Luvannor. This result makes them firm at the top of the standings with 68 points or 20 points clear of da Gama who is still in fourth position.

There are still seven games that Cruzeiro has to play in the remainder of the season. However, they are already certain to play in the highest caste next season with three other teams still chasing promotion tickets.

Before that match Ronaldo joined 60 thousand supporters to watch his son, who is also named the same, act as a dipjoki (DJ). The 22-year-old man was assigned to entertain the audience before the big match.

In the midst of the boisterous audience, Ronaldo even took the microphone to interact and stimulate the fans before returning to his private seat.

Ronaldo, a former Barcelona and Real Madrid striker, bought a stake in his boyhood club last year. According to reports, he invested more than 60 million pounds which led him to control 90 percent of the club's shares.

While defending Cruzeiro, Ronaldo scored 44 goals in 47 games before joining PSV Eindhoven in 1994. He then played for several of Europe's biggest clubs including Inter and AC Milan.

The former phenomenal striker retired from football after serving with Corinthians in 2011 and since then he has started to explore the business world.

In addition to holding a majority stake in Cruzeiro, he is also the majority owner and club president Real Valladolid La Liga.
