San Marino's MotoGP Result: Falls And Injuries, Mario Aji Failed To Bring Figures From Moto3 Class

JAKARTA - Indonesian racer Mario Suryo Aji has a chance to finish with points at the San Marino Moto3 Grand Prix, but fell and failed to finish the race on Sunday.

The DNF also exacerbated the condition of the shoulder injury suffered by the Honda Team Asia rider, although the X-ray scan at the Misano Circuit medical center did not show any cracks in Mario's bones.

Mario had already held back the pain on his shoulder while undergoing the qualification in which he secured the starting position of P23.

He got the injury while training last week, and it was exacerbated when he fell at FP1 on Friday until he was doubtful for a race.

"Mario had a brilliant start, racing in 17th position. He appeared pressing to get points today, but unfortunately he had a great accident," said team manager Hiroshi Aoyama, quoted by the official Honda Team Asia website.

"Initially, we were a little worried, but he was fine. Next week we will check his physical condition at Barcelona, especially on his injured shoulder."

Mario is currently still ranked 26th in the standings with a collection of five points.

"Unfortunately I can't finish today," said the 18-year-old, quoted from Antara.

"I haven't had a lot of laps today, but I saw a lot of positive things from there.

"I started well, was in P17. I was comfortable racing in that group, fighting for points, but I had a great highside.

"Luckily, I feel good and have two weeks to recover before the race in Aragon," concluded Mario.

Italians Dennis shot (Leopard Racing) win the race at Misano after beating Jaume Masia (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and Izan Guevara (GAGAS).
