JAKARTA - Former Manchester United player, Edinson Cavani, has a new club. The Uruguayan player officially joined Spanish La Liga club Valencia.

Cavani signed a two-season contract with Valencia, as reported by Antara from AFP.

"Valencia CF has reached an agreement to sign Edinson Cavani over the next two seasons until June 13, 2024," the club said on their official website.

Cavani's presence in Valencia could not be separated from the wishes of the coach, Gennaro Gattuso. The former Napoli coach believes that the 35-year-old's presence could increase his team's breaking power.

Valencia managed to win the competition with French Ligue 1 club Nice, who also agreed to Cavani after the player was free of transfer because his contract with Manchester United was not extended.

Last season, Cavani was not optimal in showing their abilities in the Premier League. The reason is, he has more injuries than he has appeared for his team.

During his career in Europe, Cavani has made 614 appearances and scored 359 goals. He did that with Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli, Palermo and Manchester United.
