JAKARTA - The management of PSIS Semarang finally spoke up regarding a report made by one of the football lovers to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police regarding the practice of gambling in soccer.

PSIS is included in three Liga 1 clubs reported to the police. They are considered to have violated Article 45 paragraph 2 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions in conjunction with Article 303 of the Criminal Code.

The criminal allegation committed is distributing and/or transmitting and/or making accessible electronic information containing gambling content in conjunction with gambling or providing gambling opportunities as referred to in the article.

PSIS is suspected of promoting gambling sites because it is supported by Skor88.news, which is believed by Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) to be the site of Skor88's gambling.

PSIS Team Manager, Wisnu Adi, explained that their collaboration with Score 88 News was a collaboration with news portals, not with gambling portals.

"We cooperate with online news portals, not with gambling portals like the ones that are currently busy. In the articles of cooperation it is also clearly stated that PSIS is not responsible for the content of the news and content on the news portal," said Wisnu Adi on the club's official website.

However, Wisnu Adi said that his party had taken the decision to remove Score 88 News from their training jersey. PSIS Semarang is also committed to ending its partnership with one of their sponsors.

"We were also committed from the start that PSIS cooperated with online news portals, not gambling portals and we also decided that PSIS had canceled cooperation with Score 88 News which was suspected as a gambling portal," said Wisnu.

PSIS management then apologized for the noise that occurred. "On behalf of PSIS management, we also apologize if there has been a commotion lately because of the hectic news about this," he concluded.
