There's A Record Behind Messi's Beautiful Assist To Mbappe

JAKARTA - Lionel Messi made a sensational assist to help Kylian Mbappe equal the fastest goal in the history of the French Ligue 1 competition.

Mbappe scored in the eighth second when Paris Saint-Germain were hosted by LOSC Lille in the third week of the French Ligue 1 season 2022/2023 at the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium on Monday, August 22 in the morning WIB.

The 23-year-old completed Messi's cross with an attractive chip to open his side's party of 7-1 victory over the hosts.

Video footage of the goal has gone viral on social media and has received praise from football fans. They considered Messi's assist was extraordinary.

"What amazes me is how Messi passes the ball to Mbappe so easily," wrote one fan as reported by The Sun.

This quick goal made Mbappe successfully carve his name in the history of the French League. He managed to equal the record for the fastest goals in Ligue 1 history.

The previous record for the fastest goal was set in 1992. The record was held by the Frenchman Michel Rio who also scored a quick goal when the game had only been running for eight minutes.

In addition to scoring fast goals, Mbappe also recorded a hat-trick in this match. He netted two other goals each in the 66th minute and PSG's closing goal in the 87th minute.

Lionel Messi also managed to help the team by scoring one goal. The other three goals for PSG were scored by Neymar in the 43rd and 52nd minutes and Achaf Hakimi's goals in the 39th minute.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Bamba scored a consolation goal for the hosts in the 54th minute. This result makes PSG sit at the top of the standings with a collection of nine points.
