Fabregas Friendly With Mourinho, Disappointed With Guardiola

JAKARTA - AS Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas admits that he still considers his former boss at Chelsea, Jose Mourinho, as a friend. On the other hand, he admitted that he was not friends with his former Barcelona coach, Pep Guardiola.

Fabregas, 33, played one season under Guardiola at Camp Nou before the manager left in the summer of 2012.

"No, no, not at all (friends) with Pep," Fabregas told Catalunya Radio when asked if he was still in contact with Guardiola.

"I don't know if this disappointment is also experienced by Pep. Everything has happened, but I prefer not to talk about it. Pep was my idol as a child. He's the one who made me learn a lot, maybe since I was four years old until now."

But Fabregas still contacted Tottenham manager Mourinho.

He played under Mourinho for 19 months at Stamford Bridge before the manager was sacked in December 2015.

"Mourinho inspired me the most when I left Barca," Fabregas said on the ESPN website quoted by Antara, Thursday.

"He told me we had problems on the pitch when he was at Chelsea and I was at Arsenal and then he coached Real Madrid and I at Barcelona, but for his sake, it all ends there. We have turned a new page."
