World Ski Champion Adèle Milloz Dies After Terrible Fall In Alpine Climbing

JAKARTA - World ski champion Adèle Milloz has reportedly died with a friend after a horrific fall while climbing the Alps.

26-year-old Adle experienced the horror while in the mountains of Mont Blanc in France. He was training to become a mountain guide when he died.

"Adèle is a radiant young woman. The entire company is feeling boundless sadness today," said Olivier Greber, chairman of the Company of Guides of Chamonix, as quoted by The Sun.

Adèle won several European and national world titles in ski mountaineering, but quit in 2019 and trained to become a guide.

However, he was unlucky to have died along with his 30-year-old colleague while trying to complete their training program. The bodies of Adèle and his partner were found by fellow climbers on Friday night.

"We will always miss his smile," added the French Mountaineering Federation.

Ski mountaineering, also known as skimo, is a ski discipline that involves climbing mountains with skis or carrying them before sliding down with them.

This discipline will be included in the 2026 Winter Olympics for the first time.

A police source said that the cause of the crash was unknown and an investigation had been opened. However, officials have ruled out the possibility of a rock slide.

Hikers were recently warned to delay their trek because of a drought that could cause a dangerous avalanche near Europe's highest peak.

Some guided tour companies have even suspended their ascents after two rafters were forced to close. However, a source reports that the route Adèle and his friends took was not too difficult.
