Qualified For The 2022 AFF Cup Final, The Indonesian U-16 Team Was Given A Bonus Of Rp. 150 Million, The Amount Could Increase If They Won

JAKARTA - The success of the Indonesian team in qualifying for the final round of the 2022 AFF U-16 Cup received appreciation from the General Chair of PSSI, Mochamad Iriawan. The Bima Sakti team was given a bonus of Rp. 150 million. The PSSI chairman said he was ready to give additional bonuses to Indonesian U-16 players if they managed to come out as champions.

"Thank God this (bonus) is a form of appreciation to players and officials for having qualified for the final round. If you are able to win the AFF U-16 Cup, of course the bonus will increase again," said Iriawan from the official PSSI website.

Indonesia U-16 qualified for the final after defeating Myanmar through a 5-4 (1-1) penalty shootout in the semifinals which took place at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman on Wednesday, August 10.

After qualifying for the final, later Muhammad Iqbal Dwijangge and his friends will face Vietnam U-16 to ensure the title. The final match will take place today, Friday, August 12 at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, at 20.00 WIB.

Iriawan hopes that the players can maximize and focus on this final. The goal is clear, to win and secure the championship trophy.

"I hope the players focus and work hard against Vietnam in the final match. We want to repeat the 2018 U-16 AFF Cup champion," said Iwan Bule.

In the final match tonight, Vietnam U-16 will act as the host and wear a red home costume. Meanwhile, the U-16 Indonesian National Team will wear the white and green away costume.
